A Behind The Scenes Sneak Peek At Colonization Road - A Documentary Featuring Anishinaabe Comedian Ryan McMahon

This week, Colonization Road has its world premiere at the imagineNATIVE Film & Media Arts Festival. At the time of writing this blog post, there are just 5 tickets left for the screening on Sunday October 23rd, 2016 at 10.15AM at the beautiful TIFF Lightbox Theatre.

Its been a long road for the Colonization Road team. This film, as all documentaries are, is a labour of love and the project as a whole has been in existence in one form or another for close to 12 years for director/producer, Michelle St. John.

The film features interviews, standup comedy & reflections on the last 150 years in Canada. Colonization Road unearths the history of the Public Lands Act of 1853—its impact on First Nations, treaties, land and the expansion of "Canadian" settlement—and follows Anishinaabe comedian and activist Ryan McMahon along Fort Frances' Colonization Road.
