Colonization Road Will Air Nationally on CBC TV on January 26th, 2017

I'm proud to announce that Colonization Road, a 50 minute documentary on Canada's colonial past told through interviews, comedy & my rantings, will be broadcast Nationally on CBC TV on January 26th, 2017 at 9PM.

You can read the full announcement and check out the CBC First Hand website here. For more information on the film, our amazing crew, an more, visit our website.

All power and love to our films director, Michelle St. John and the team that stood behind her to make this movie! I think we've made a powerful gift to Canada, one that should add much to the conversation around reconciliation, Canada's 150th birthday and the deep roots of colonialism in this country.

If you want to do a deep dive into my thoughts on the film and where we go from here in Canada, I talked to the Huffington Post just after the world premier of the film at imagineNATIVE.

In short, we have much work to do, the journey continues.

Set your PVR, tell a friend, make noise online, be sure to holler back and let me know what you think.

In this film we unpack the suite of policies & legislation that expedited the creation Canada and we examine how these policies were put in place at the cost of Indigenous Peoples, our Nations & the lands and waters we have lived in relation to for thousands of years.

This film is not so much an indictment on Canada, it is a film that looks at Canadian history through an Indigenous lens. The film was made as an effort to create a common place to start, a common language to speak, when we look at the the possibility of reconciliation and a pathway forward in Canada.
