I've Signed With The Transatlantic Agency
I'm proud to announce that I have officially signed with the Transatlantic Agency to represent my literary, film and television writing career. I'm proud to be represented by both Samantha Haywood and Stephanie Sinclair!
I'm not delusional. I am creative. I'm ready to work hard.
I have my work cut out for me and I'm stepping into a brand new world. I have written 4 hours of comedy for TV, countless essays/opinion pieces, many theatre piecse, hundreds of hours of radio, 2 documentary projects and a feature film script - BUT - I have never written a book.
I embrace the challenge, I can't wait to see what comes of this!
So, Whatchoo Workin' On?
As many of you know, I'm currently writing a book, "The Great NDN Paradox," for Robin's Egg Books (an imprint of Arsenal Pulp Press). This book is a collection of fictional short stories, woven together narratively and thematically, that investigates the paradoxical lives we live (*thanks, colonialism). I submit the manuscript for that book at the end of the year - you'll see this book hit the stores in October 2018!
Plans are currently underway for my second book (I know, obnoxious, right?). I'm really excited to share that we are beginning the work of getting our proposal/material together for Fall 2017 submissions for what will be my second book, "2167 - Future Reason For A Country." Inspired by my monthly column at VICE (column returns this Fall after summer hiatus), 2167 will be a forward-looking work of non-fiction about what the next 150 years might bring in Canada.
On top of book plans, a small handful of film and television projects are in various stages of being shopped around to the industry. This past week at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) I had a number of meetings with broadcasters and producers!
Thanks to everyone for the positive vibes, kind words and well wishes.
The journey continues.
